The Quebec area of Canada is the largest province in acreage, and the second most populated province in the country. Gondolas, T-bars, and lifts glide you up 800 meters (2,625 ft) to the mountain top where photo opportunities abound overlooking the St. Lawrence valley.

Quebec City has 305 hotels, motels, or bed and breakfast accommodations available to travelers. Holiday rentals are also available from private owners and real estate agents that can be procured fully-furnished by the day, week, or month. Charming pubs, elegant dining, and cultural events are all readily at hand in this large modern city-center. Public transportation is available, as well as biking paths, hiking trails, and car hire services.

Not far from Quebec City there are 18 other establishments that offer skiing, cross country skiing, dog sledding, ice skating, snow boarding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling wilderness trips, and various other snow related activities. There is a large modern international airport that can deliver travelers into this wonderful four-season holiday capital city destination easily.

Skiing Near Montreal:

Montreal is the second largest city in Canada, and the largest city in the Quebec province with a population of about 1,620,700 people. This large city was the host of the 1976 Summer Olympics, and many ski resorts exist around Montreal, and between Montreal and Quebec City that is about 275 km (168 mi) away to the north. Vacationers from the United States New York and Boston, Massachusetts areas are less than 350 miles away.

One of the fastest growing ski resorts in Quebec is at Bromont, less than an hour drive away from the Montreal city-center. Bromont has 129 skiing options and a superior heavy-duty snow making system. Forty-six of the Bromont ski trails are open at night with guaranteed conditions, making the Bromont ski area quite popular for people staying nearby in the exciting city of Montreal.

Most of the stores in the downtown area of Montreal will accept US currency for payments. Banks can transfer US currency into local denominations easily, but often have a wait involved to exchange currency from other areas. Montreal offers tourists world-class dining, sporting events, and cultural activities to enjoy, along with museums, parks and walking trails, or the local clubbing scene to explore. All age-groups enjoy Montreal.

Quebec Lodging Notes:

The northern areas of Quebec are sparsely populated, and the larger city areas are densely populated. For this reason, it is always wise to make lodging accommodations in advance of your trip. Holiday or vacation rentals are full-size apartments or dwellings that are offered through private owners or online advertisements at holiday planning services. These fully-furnished and fully-equipped rentals are often the best deals to be found.
